The cable industry’s commitment to cutting energy costs continues to pay off for the industry and consumers. Thanks to a nine-year-long agreement between pay TV providers and energy efficiency advocates led by the Consumer Technology Association, NCTA and CableLabs, the aggregate energy use of set-top boxes has been cut by 57% in the U.S.
