Suns, Mercury Ditch Diamond
It’s another gut punch for Diamond Sports Group and RSNs. On Friday, the NBA’s Phoenix Suns and WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury struck a local media deal with Gray Television as well as the streaming platform Kiswe to broadcast the teams’ games starting next season.

Sinclair and YouTube TV penned a distribution deal for the vMVPD to carry Tennis Channel, T2, CHARGE! and TBD. All four will be rolled out on the platform June 1. The agreement also includes the carriage renewal for the sci-fi network Comet and extends the existing carriage of Sinclair’s CBS and MyNetworkTV affiliate broadcast stations.

Select TV stations in Rochester, New York, started broadcasting with NextGen TV. Those are WHAM-TV (ABC), WROC-TV (CBS), WUHF (Fox) and WXXI-TV (PBS). NextGen TV brings improved video and audio as well as advanced emergency alerts.

CBS Sports and Warner Bros. Discovery Sports combined for the most-watched first round of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament ever. On Thursday and Friday, TBS, CBS, TNT, truTV and the March Madness Live app had a total audience delivery of 9.2 million viewers. Coverage of Friday’s games averaged 9.3 million total viewers across platforms, the most-watched Friday first-round slate ever.
