today, some will retreat to the “liberal” and “conservative” corners and argue. But the results are bad in the long run whichever “side” you are on, because if we allow one or the other “side” to exclusively define the words, we’re all, eventually, in trouble.

I’m not saying we should stop the development of AI. But I do know there’s reasonable concern, and to set up a situation where neither the states nor the federal government could expeditiously look at what might be needed, is a really bad idea.

Effros: Pendulums Break
when it comes to law and regulations, particularly in telecommunications, things get a little sticky. The underlying reason given for being more averse to blatant bias or discrimination has always been, especially in the context of broadcast law, that we’re dealing with a very limited commodity: the broadcast spectrum.
