Zenita Henderson

Under Henderson’s guidance, the 2018 Cable-Tec Expo had the highest attendee NPS score in its history, up four points over any previous year, and its exhibitor NPS score rose by nearly 140%. 2019 has been a huge year for Henderson. She was named the WICT, SCTE and Cablefax Women in Technology Award winner and was dubbed a “Woman to Watch” by WICT. She also serves as a board member of WICT Greater Philadelphia Chapter and is active in the Emma Bowen Foundation. “Diversity is more than just color, religion and sexual orientation. It’s the quirky, geeky, crazy hair colors, skinny jeans and age of the workforce,” she says.

What does your company/organization do to ensure all employees feel included?
We host an internal vote on all matters that concerns/impacts the workforce to gather feedback for SLT to review before making changes.

How can diversity be better incorporated into the recruiting process?
The language of diversity is so generic. The standard boiler plate language is typically used. Humanize the language, speak to the many facets of a diverse workforce. Keep it real! Diversity is more than just color, religion and sexual orientation. It’s the quirky, geeky, crazy hair colors, skinny jeans and age of the workforce.
