Susette Hsiung

The Why: Hsiung advocates for inclusive stories that are relatable for viewers of any background or age. She was integral to relaunching “The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder,” which was rebooted for a second season. Internally, Hsiung was an executive leader in Disney Branded Television’s Workplace and Women initiative and founded the Women’s Collective affinity group, where she helps map out career growth for women, support neurodivergent employees and create an equitable workplace.

She Says… “My goal is to broaden DEI initiatives to be more inclusive of neurodiversity. We have seen great contributions from this community on our show productions.”

Place I would love to retire to: My yoga practice!

What movie or show is a must-watch for celebrating diversity, and why? “American Born Chinese.” It is a relatable series about a teenager trying to fit in at a suburban high school. At the same time, the series embraces his family’s rich Chinese culture and traditions.
