Who is your favorite current female TV character and why?
A character in TV that I admire is Andi Mack. She is a 13-year-old girl who is going through change—relationships, identity, self-confidence and self-growth. Change continues throughout one’s life, so these are valuable skills to keep building.

What is one way the industry can continue to evolve in ridding itself of gender discrimination?
To broaden opportunity for women and minorities, the industry might use as a model the Rooney Rule, a policy at the NFL that requires its teams to interview minority candidates for senior jobs. It’s a starting point yet an important one that can identify a broader range of viable candidates.
