Sherita Ceasar

If you want to see Ceasar light up, get her talking about the FIRST National Robotics competition. She’s championed Comcast’s sponsorship of a number of teams across Denver and Philly for the past several years. Ceasar makes mentoring a priority, despite the busy life that goes with leading the team transforming Comcast’s headends and hubs.  “One way our industry can evolve in ridding ourselves of gender discrimination is engage male executive champions as allies that are incentivized to improve the demographics in our industry. Accountability for change will drive different behavior,” Ceasar says.

Who is your favorite current female TV character and why?

My favorite female TV character is Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord in TV drama “Madam Secretary,” played by Téa Leoni. She is a smart strong leader who balances job and family as well as supports and develops her team.

What is one way the industry can continue to evolve in ridding itself of gender discrimination?

One way our industry can evolve in ridding ourselves of gender discrimination is engage male executive champions as allies that are incentivized to improve the demographics in our industry. Accountability for change will drive different behavior.

What famous woman, living or deceased, would you like to have dinner with?

I would love to have dinner with Oprah Winfrey. Oprah is an inspiring, successful businesswoman. Early in my career I had the opportunity to hear her speak to young girls we were mentoring in the Sojourner Truth program at the Chicago Historical Society which was tied to Brian Lanker (1999), I Dream a World: Portraits of Black Women Who Changed America. She spoke with the young girls and mentors about believing in yourself. We all benefited from the experience. Having dinner with Oprah would be an awesome experience.
