Simply put, Ferro gets the job done. Disney just wrapped its first combined upfront— featuring ABC, ESPN, Freeform and FX Networks—with a 5% revenue increase. It’s the icing on the cake of an exceptional year for the executive, who last September gained oversight of all Disney and ESPN entertainment, news, sports, kids across linear and digital platforms, plus the company’s local stations—a job made even more monumental after Disney’s $71.3 billion purchase of 21st Century Fox in March. A devoted mentor both within and outside the company, Ferro recently was appointed to NYC’s Latin Media and Entertainment Commission.
