Philpott has plenty to keep her busy on a legal front, including Cox’s request that the U.S. Supreme Court reconsider a ruling that it was vicariously liable for broadband subscribers that used the internet to pirate music. But she still finds time to prioritize serving as executive sponsor of Cox Soul, an employee resource group focused on creating community and networking for employees of African descent and their allies. Philpott also has been a big supporter of Cox’s partnerships with HBCUs.
What nonprofit are you proud to champion? YWCA of Greater Atlanta, because it’s an organization that brings real change to the fight for gender equality and racial justice. Programmatic themes focused on Advocacy & Social Justice, Education & Economic Empowerment and Health & Safety for Women and Girls are building blocks that will enhance our communities for greater opportunity for all.

What does work-life balance mean to you? I’ve moved away from balance and replaced it with intentionality around where I spend my energy. There are aspects of my professional and personal life that require productivity, growth, and results. Whether we are talking about work, family, or play, my intention is to be attuned to the sparks and sometimes explosions of creativity, purpose and engagement. Harnessing these aspects of my energy is what propels me to the highest version of myself.
