An advocate for reducing the cable industry’s regulatory burden, Andrion helped Charter ensure the FCC enacted reasonable rules for implementing the ATSC 3.0 broadcast standard. Also an adjunct professor at Georgetown and UCLA, this astute policymaker makes time to mentor others. Doubtful her 13-year old self would heed her advice, Andrion hopes her daughter will: “Optimism, perspective and determination will get you there. Keep an open mind, but maintain your values through it all.”
What specifically does your company do to support and elevate the women who work there?
Charter hires and empowers very strong, independent, intelligent women. The head of our government affairs office serves as an excellent role model for women who work hard and demand a lot. She maintains a fun and enjoyable professional environment and respects the role women have in successful child-rearing.
What advice would you give your 13-year-old self?
My thirteen-year-old-self wouldn’t listen, but my daughter might still: optimism, perspective, and determination will get you there. Keep an open mind, but maintain your values through it all.
Which current shows best reflect the kind of women’s roles you like to see and why?
“Charlie’s Angels”—It depicts strong, assertive women. Though it’s not a current show, I hear there may be a new version of the movie.
