Oprah Winfrey

Yep, she’s still got it. OWN currently has five of the top 20 original scripted series on ad-supported cable among women in the key 25-54 demo. And while Winfrey’s daily network talk show is deeply missed, the good news is that viewers can still glimpse her on screen. She starred in the Disney feature film “A Wrinkle in Time” earlier this year and was honored with the opening of “Watching Oprah: The Oprah Winfrey Show and American Culture” at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture. The program explored Winfrey’s life and the impact her talk show made. Her year began with being honored by the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. with the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes. In her memorable speech, Winfrey said she hoped all the young girls watching would believe a new day was beginning and that, thanks to some “magnificent women,” “nobody ever has to say ‘me too’ again.”
