Last winter Lee’s job expanded again, this time to include overseeing TLC’s entire production and development slate, totaling more than 200 hours of content per year. And he’s also still GM of Discovery Life. Under his purview, “Sister Wives” saw its highest-rated season yet, and for the first half of 2016 the shows in TLC’s Wednesday night lineup—“My 600-Lb Life,” “I Am Jazz” and “My Big Fat Fabulous Life”— posted record high ratings. Despite Lee’s success in linear television, he says streaming VOD will most benefit the industry in the coming year. “There’s so much content out there, and it’s almost impossible to keep up. Streaming offers you the opportunity to catch up on a show or series before fully committing or DVR’ing.”
