Standard General Lost TEGNA, but Still Pursuing Litigation
The U.S. District Court for D.C. dismissed a lawsuit filed by Standard General Managing Partner Soo Kim against the FCC, its Media Bureau and former Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel that accused the Commission of impeding its proposed TEGNA acquisition because of racial discrimination. Now Kim and Standard General are pursuing an appeal.

NCTA Taps Cory Gardner as New Chief
NCTA named Cory Gardner as its new CEO, replacing the retiring Michael Powell. Gardner, a Republican, served as a U.S. Senator from 2015 to 2021.

NCTA Chief Michael Powell to Retire this Year
Michael Powell will retire as President and CEO of NCTA – The Internet & Television Association later this year, a position he’s held since April 2011. The NCTA board will begin a national search for his successor.
