NBCU Academy continues to thrive under Miley’s leadership. The free program for advancing careers in journalism, media and tech is now partnered with 45 academic institutions and reaches STEM programs. In April, NBCU Academy hosted its fifth Next Level Summit, a free journalism training program for students and professionals, and she oversees a Storytellers program where three early-career journalists work under the guidance of an NBC News reporter, correspondent or executive. Every day, she strives to bring the same acceptance and encouragement to the workplace that her mentors generously gave to her. “They led with acceptance and understanding, creating a space where I felt both supported and empowered,” she says.
