Vicki Lins

Lins continuously finds ways to breathe new life into the industry’s marketing organization. That means identifying new key areas to focus on, like protecting content rights through piracy mitigation while continuing to strengthen CTAM’s executive education series. While the pandemic has triggered an exodus of women out of the workforce, Lins encourages anybody that is looking to make their re-entry not to sweat any new gaps on their resume. Instead, a focus should be placed on finding a community and what works for you. “Don’t worry about the rules; make your own by identifying the career goals that suit you,” she says. “True success lies in the power of collective impact; find or be a mentor, join industry associations and look for other ways to engage within your industry.”

Best advice for someone looking to re-enter the workforce after a hiatus?
Believe in yourself and your talents. Don’t worry about the rules; make your own by identifying the career goals that suit you. Equip yourself before re-entry by becoming familiar with the latest industry trends, disruptors, key executives and technology. Read, listen to podcasts and attend webinars to gain the knowledge and skills needed to reach the goals you’ve set. Network, dust off your Rolodex, and reconnect with old colleagues. True success lies in the power of collective impact; find or be a mentor, join industry associations and look for other ways to engage within your industry.

What’s one way your company has broadened the recruiting process to ensure greater diversity?

Our culture fosters an inclusive environment where our employees are encouraged to share their ideas and present new ways of thinking. Our recruiting process requires diverse points of view to help influence an equitable hiring process. We offer an inclusive culture by facilitating 360-degree input in all staff meetings, business priorities, and team activities; we create connections with one another and leverage strengths while balancing opportunities for improvement. We offer benefits to support diverse cultures by offering floating holidays for our employees with varying cultural and religious holidays, paid parental leave, domestic partner health insurance and offer flexible WFH schedules to support work-life balance. We believe being a great place to work for all helps us attract diverse talent.
