In the past year, Elder has led WOW! through its continued market expansion initiatives and broadband-first strategy, with record high-speed data revenue (up 7.3%) in Q3 2023. Under her watch, WOW! continued to make significant progress in 2023 toward the goal of reaching 400,000 new homes passed. On the video side, WOW! landed a strategic deal with YouTube TV, allowing consumers to purchase WOW!’s internet with YouTube TV service. At the same time, WOW! has built a culture dedicated to the values of respect, integrity, spirit of service and accountability, leading to its being named a Best and Brightest Company to Work for in the Nation for the last six years. WOW! also gives back to its communities, donating money for specific projects like magnet schools as well as tens of thousands of volunteer hours to charities and organizations through its WOW! in the Neighborhood (WIN) program.
The last thing AI got wrong was… My background. One of my sons played with AI to see how it would write my bio and apparently I’m married to someone other than my husband of 42 years and have a daughter?! It’s a good reminder when we think AI is getting too smart.
Business speak phrase or buzzword I find most annoying: “It is what it is.” I don’t prefer this phrase because I like to think we can always influence the situation rather than just accept what is.
What emerging industry trend are you most excited by? Our industry’s innovation in rolling out faster, reliable speeds for our customers at a good value. Accessible, fast, reliable internet improves people’s lives.
