Scott was named the first President of Programming for Fox News earlier this year, a leap from where she started when she joined Fox News Channel at its inception in 1996. She supervises and oversees all network programming, leading the launch of FNC’s newest primetime lineup last May. Scott is also constantly taking the time to mentor the industry’s rising stars while doing what she can to support other executives in the field. In Scott’s eyes, 2018 will be a continuation of the corporate battle between media companies and Silicon valley. “This is because journalists, producers and all content creators need to protect and manage the access and the value of the material they are creating.”

Who is your favorite current female TV character and why?
I have always had a fascination with the Queens of England…and Jenna Coleman’s Queen Victoria role in Victoria and Claire Foy’s Queen Elizabeth in The Crown are my current favorites. I love watching the young Queens navigate the early part of their reigns and their strength and resolve in managing extraordinary circumstances.

What industry topic do you think will dominate industry headlines in 2018 and why?
The corporate battle between media companies and Silicon Valley will continue in the headlines. This is because journalists, producers and all content creators need to protect and manage the access and the value of the material they are creating.

What is one way the industry can continue to evolve in ridding itself of gender discrimination?
Industry leaders need to continue to provide more opportunities for women to shine. This includes promoting more leadership roles for women in all areas of the business.

What famous woman, living or deceased, would you like to have dinner with?
There are too many. I recently watched the documentary “Billie Jean King: Portrait of a Pioneer.” She not only was an incredible athlete with an extraordinary career she also inspired women to pursue their dreams. To win at tennis as she did requires incredible discipline and to fight for women as she has, took incredible guts. And, she seems like she’d be a fun dinner companion!

Best advice for relieving stress?
A long run, a walk on the beach and time with family and friends with the cell phones out of sight.
