All residential, mobile and SMB digital marketing flows through Kumar. No small task given that digital is one of the largest channels at the company. Yet he also finds ways to help others, recently serving as a panelist for an Emma Bowen Foundation panel presented to 180 students of diverse backgrounds. “I’ve been impressed with how our industry comes together to support organizations that promote the development of diverse talent,” he says. “T. Howard and Emma Bowen foundations are examples. The organizations’ missions of providing early career opportunities and developing the next generation of leaders is critical to the future of our industry.”

The conversation about racial injustice in 2020 has been… necessary. Such conversations have been long overdue. Equality is a human right.

In what ways can companies best show a sincere commitment to diversity and inclusion?
I believe one of the ways that companies can demonstrate their D&I commitment is by having a clear vision, mission and strategy in place to support these goals. My own company, Charter Communications, does this. Our D&I strategy focuses on five pillars – Our People, a Culture of Inclusion, Products & Services, Suppliers and Communities. We regularly measure our progress against the goals we set, and you can feel D&I as part of everything we do.
