Whether it’s creating a content discovery system or monetizing Olympics viewership, Williams thrives in challenging environments. She was a founding member of NBCU’s employee resource group, Asia Pacific America@NBCUniversal, and appreciates what she’s seen and experienced. “I certainly can attest to the positive impact the group had on me,” Williams says. The group’s cross-functional professional and social activities help employees feel part of the team, she says. “It’s truly one of my favorite things about our organization.”

What does your company/organization do to ensure all employees feel included?
At Comcast NBCUniversal, we have many employee resource groups that provide a great community to connect and develop employees at all levels. Having been a founding member of APA@NBCUniversal, I certainly can attest to the positive impact the group had on me. In addition, every organization within the company has unique programs. Speaking for my organization, Content Distribution, we have a number of cross-functional professional and social activities to make all employees feel included and part of the team. It’s truly one of my favorite thing about our organization.

What questions is the industry not yet asking in its efforts to be more diverse and inclusive that it should be?
I think the question is how can we ensure we are being diverse and inclusive not only based on what we can see but tackle what we can’t see. To truly bring to life the diversity of thought.

Which current television show/s best embrace diversity?
“Suits,” “Superstore” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” are what comes to mind.
