Fujimoto’s commitment to Hawaii is enriched by his field operations work and dedication to supporting communities in the state. He’s overseeing the company’s ongoing network investment—no easy feat given the state’s unique geographical terrain. The project will enable upload speeds of up to a gigabit as well as multi-gig download speeds. Fujimoto led efforts to expand broadband to an additional 9,000 homes and small businesses in the Aloha State last year. He also sits on the boards of the after-school initiative REACH in addition to the American Red Cross of Hawaii.
What’s your boldest prediction about your industry in the next 10 years? In 10 years, I would love to see affordable, holographic video on my glasses. Holographic video seems to be a natural evolution of the consumer demand and the industry’s technological progress.
Advice I would give a recent graduate: Stay curious about all that is around you.
What nonprofit are you proud to champion? I am a champion and volunteer for the American Red Cross. The Red Cross and its volunteers are so giving and selfless during people’s times of greatest need. They work tirelessly to provide shelter, food, water, and basic necessities for those who are affected by disasters such as floods, fires, hurricanes, tsunamis, and tornados. The Red Cross is there from the very beginning to the very end. In addition, through their education programs and community outreach, they continue to teach and prepare others on how to be self-reliant and resilient in the face of disaster.
