Freddy Rolon

Better integrating ESPN and ESPN Deportes content across platforms for specific events and initiatives of interest to Hispanic audiences has been top of mind for Rolon during the past year. In one salient deal, he drove the strategy that secured the exclusive Spanish-language rights to the Super Bowl in 2019. Lately, Rolon’s been inspired by recent films with diverse casts finding success. “Black Panther,” “Wonder Woman,” “Coco” and “Crazy Rich Asians” all are “great examples of compelling content that reached broad audiences by including diverse viewpoints in its storytelling and by placing actors of diverse backgrounds in major roles,” he says.

What’s your best advice to someone just entering the video content/distribution industry?
Get to know as many of your fellow co-workers as you can, never stop being curious about their work and how everyone on the team contributes. The more you learn about the business you are in the better positioned you’ll be to succeed.
