Courteney Monroe

Monroe raises the bar for Nat Geo content each year. When production limitations slowly lifted under COVID-safe protocols, the company safely completed production and premiered the much-anticipated scripted anthology installment “Genius: Aretha,” which received three Primetime Emmy Award nominations. Among other buzzy TV events are “Fauci,” about the career and life of Dr. Anthony Fauci, which debuted in October; “The Rescue,” about the 2018 rescue of 12 young boys and their soccer coach from a cave in northern Thailand; and “Welcome to Earth,” narrated by Will Smith. When it comes to re-entering the workforce, “Make no apologies; recognize the added value that so often comes from stepping away, taking on new experiences and developing new perspectives,” Monroe says.

Best advice for someone looking to re-enter the workforce after a hiatus?
Make no apologies; recognize the added value that so often comes from stepping away, taking on new experiences and developing new perspectives.

What one female empowerment book do you think every woman should read?
I’m currently reading Indra Nooyi’s new autobiography, “My Life In Full: Work, Family, and Our Future” and it’s fantastic. So many incredible insights and lessons, particularly for women leaders.
