Colleen Langner

Langner has been a standout member of the Cox family since her start at the company more than 25 years ago. Her passion and dedication to the work are what put her in line to succeed Mark Greatrex as he prepares his move to the role of President. She’s now responsible for leading the company’s residential sales teams as well as its marketing efforts. As Langner continues expanding her team, she’s always looking for developmental opportunities and diverse candidates that ensure Cox has leadership from all backgrounds at every level. “Partnering with diverse organizations to highlight candidates and aligning on a diverse panel of interviewers is moving us forward,” she says. “You have to be purposeful to enact change.”

What’s one way your company has broadened the recruiting process to ensure greater diversity?
At Cox, it’s not only about recruiting but also the focus on development and promotional opportunities to ensure leadership diversity at all levels of the organization. Partnering with diverse organizations to highlight candidates and aligning on a diverse panel of interviewers is moving us forward. You have to be purposeful to enact change.

Best advice for someone looking to re-enter the workforce after a hiatus?
Come back, we need you. Once you return, remain positive and find a colleague who can be your sounding board. It helps tremendously.
