Since being upped to his current role, Garcia has raised the bar for the viewing experience for multicultural customers across multiple platforms. He spearheaded the design and development of a Spanish-language user interface for X1 and went far beyond that: He’s devoted significant time to presenting numerous company initiatives from the X1 multicultural strategy, including a bicultural kids zone, the summer of soccer, and the bicultural Olympics experience. Garcia thinks cloud/cable digitalization will be the technology differentiator next year. It will “enable personalization, ubiquity and contextual relevance of the TV/Video experience—putting users in control to watch what they want, when they want it, where they want it on multiple screens in and out of home.”
