    DirecTV SignalSaver

    DirecTV is now allowing customers with an internet-connected set-top box to switch from satellite to streaming in the event of connectivity interruptions. Called SignalSaver, the feature seeks to prevent disruptions to the satellite signal in case a storm or other external event occurs. A pop-up will appear after the signal is interrupted, asking the viewer if they want to switch to the connected set-top box. It comes at no additional charge to satellite customers and can be used for 83 national networks including CNN, ESPN, Fox News and The Weather Channel.
