Tracy Pitcher

As the purveyor of Comcast’s Boston region, Pitcher has no doubt been celebrating the Red Sox win with her staff and customers. In the office, she’s been hitting grand slams of her own, elevating the customer experience for more than 1.8 million customers in more than 300 communities. Industry-wise, she’s got her eye on OTT. “It will be interesting to watch that distribution model evolve. I see three potential paths: Some will be viewed as compliments to traditional video distribution vs. replacements, others will be sold/merge, and others may disappear altogether,” she says.

Who is an inspirational woman you admire, and why?
I admire Retired Admiral Michelle Howard. She was a woman of firsts—from being a member of the first class of eight women to attend the Naval Academy, to the first female four-star Admiral. She didn’t allow headwinds set her back. She kept driving forward with positivity, and from what I can tell, grace. To paraphrase advice she received as a young woman, she didn’t let a pebble in her shoe get in her way of getting to the mountain.

What’s been the most dramatic change in your sector of the business today vs. three years ago?
The most dramatic change is the number of “over the top” video content providers that have entered into the marketplace. It will be interesting to watch that distribution model evolve. I see three potential paths: Some will be viewed as compliments to traditional video distribution vs. replacements, others will be sold/merge, and others may disappear altogether.
