Susan Swain

Interest in the federal government is soaring, and C-SPAN’s unfiltered coverage of the political process under Swain and co-president Rob Kennedy’s guidance is more is relevant than ever. It’s fitting this also has been a milestone year for the network, which celebrated its 40th birthday in March. Swain, who’s been there practically from the beginning, and Kennedy were named to the 2019 Cable Television Hall of Fame this year, and Swain co-authored her 10th book, “The Presidents: Noted Historians Rank America’s Best—and Worst—Chief Executives.” She’s been an on-camera host for more than 30 years, interviewing public officials, historians and journalists, and this September Swain filled Brian Lamb’s chair as host of C-SPAN’s popular Sunday night show “Q&A.”
