Mitchko-Beale has plenty to keep her busy, with a focus on cross-platform advertising and data technology. Cross MediaWorks comprises Cadent (formerly Black Arrow), performance-based agency TCA and addressable TV ad company one2one media. As the addressable household universe expands so does her workload. Not surprisingly, she views top stories for 2018 through that lens, citing ethical use of data and AI as hot topics. “As we continue to use social media and more and more of our daily lives are connected we must focus on how our data is used,” she says.

What industry topic do you think will dominate industry headlines in 2018 and why?
I think that the ethical use of data and AI will be front and center for many industries. As we continue to use social media and more and more of our daily lives are connected we must focus on how our data is used.

What is one way the industry can continue to evolve in ridding itself of gender discrimination?
We need to continue to educate thought leadership in all industries and companies on the issue.  One way to help is to highlight the role models we have today and make them the norm as opposed to the exception. We are not done until we don’t need to talk about it anymore. 

Best advice for relieving stress?
Meditate, exercise, Wine!
