Rodrigo Lopez

Lopez oversaw Comcast’s contribution of approximately $4 million in cash grants and in-kind services to small businesses owned by people of color in Oregon and under his leadership and direction, Comcast increased its funding and support to Digital Navigator programs in the Pacific Northwest. Throughout his 30-year career at Comcast, Lopez has highly valued mentorship and has a wealth of knowledge and uses his expertise to mentor many team members and informally influence others.

What does work-life balance mean to me? Work-life balance means securing time to recharge, renew and refresh. We are part of an industry that is always on, so my approach is to intentionally schedule my personal time and protect it as much as possible.

Boldest prediction for the next 10 years: With the rapid progression of generative AI and microchip processing power, we will truly have a customized experience that will be with us 24/7 through any of our many devices in the home or on the go. Many things that were, or are, considered science fiction will become part of our daily lives through augmented reality and virtual assistants.

Has the internet created more inclusion/exclusion? The answer is both. The internet has been a powerful tool for connecting people, educating us about each other, our cultures, and our history. However, this same ability to connect has also led to the formation of insular groups, potentially closing people off to different perspectives. The opportunity of the Internet is that it provides transparency to many aspects of our society and has leveled the playing field by providing access to more resources.
