This past year, Martinez spearheaded the news and information coverage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup for ESPN Deportes and ESPN International. He played a key role in the collaboration between the ESPN’s content teams based in the US, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, India and Australia to assure an integrated, diverse coverage of the event. “We encourage our employees to express their opinions on any matter,” he says of his team.
What does your company/organization do to ensure all employees feel included?
Over the years, we have grown and evolved our company culture to naturally include as many different people and points of view in any conversation or discussion. We encourage our employees to express their opinions on any matter by holding periodic staff meetings that promote an open and honest dialogue.

ESPN successfully created ERG’s (Employee Resource Groups), which represent various dimensions of diversity.
