Awards are given out for more than just swimming and gymnastics. Last May, under the leadership of Martinez, “SportsCenter” won in the best studio show category at the Sports Emmys. In total, the sports network took home nine statues including “30 for 30: Of Miracles and Men.” The former radio and TV host gives cable a grade of B+ for diversity, and says the technology that will most benefit cable over the next year is “portable streaming—distribution of content on mobile devices customized for the user.”
