Rob King

King isn’t just a six-time Sports Emmy award winner, he’s also a past Pulitzer judge and has been recognized as one of Forbes’ Most Influential Minorities in Sports alongside names like Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson. If that doesn’t impress you, he also took home a Peabody Award for outstanding investigative journalism and reporting on Michigan State and the Larry Nassar survivors. He remains committed to quality storytelling at ESPN and efforts to create a more diverse industry by asking questions such as, “how do our words match our actions, and how aware are our customers and partners of any discrepancies?”

How can diversity be better incorporated into the recruiting process?
Companies must continually publicly celebrate successes, highlighting moments when inclusive ideation and execution brings positive results. Their audiences are full of interested, diverse candidates seeking places to work where their differences can be welcomed as essential assets.

What questions is the industry not yet asking in its efforts to be more diverse and inclusive that it should be?
How do our words match our actions, and how aware are our customers and partners of any discrepancies?

Which current television show/s best embrace diversity?
“Black-ish” is, without question, my favorite.
