A highly sought-after mentor at Cox, standards-raiser Martin in recent months led several national efforts to advance the business. In 2017, her team laid the foundation for Cox’s Toolsets via automated processes and enhanced event correlation. This year, the Service Assurance organization, under the her leadership, will drive the operating model for comprehensive Network Transformation while continuing to further drive process standardization via Incident Management Automation. She says a reality show based on her office would be called “The Dream Team.” Why? “As technologists, we are an organization of people who constantly run fast and furious to do the right thing for our employees and customers in a very dynamic environment.”
Who is an inspirational woman you admire, and why?
Jill Campbell (Cox Enterprises) is someone whom I admire. Jill has been a long-term employee of Cox Communications and a significant role model for females within the Cable industry. Jill continues to drive the business forward with her constant level of innovation and not only understands business operations, but also understands the needs of our employees while remaining focused on our customers.
What’s been the most dramatic change in your sector of the business today vs. three years ago?
The most dramatic change in our sector, for cable provider operations, has encompassed standardization and driving out manual and repetitive processes via automation. These changes have been significant within our sector but have also been necessary in an agile workplace where the focus has shifted towards cost efficiency, ease of business, and exceeding customer expectations. The transition from decentralized to centralized models has not only allowed for employee skillset optimization but has also benefited our customers – allowing us to service them the right way.
If there were a reality show based on your office, what would it be called?
If there were a reality show based on my office, it would be called “The Dream Team.” As technologists, we are an organization of people who constantly run fast and furious to do the right thing for our employees and customers in a very dynamic environment. Whether troubleshooting an issue firsthand with our customers or partnering with our vendors, each team member plays an important role. As every good storyline unfolds, we continue to unveil new developments and innovative ideas and concepts through our unwavering candor and specialized skillsets—ensuring we’re doing the right thing for the business, our employees, and our customers.
