Nomi Bergman

While still serving as president of the Advance/Newhouse Partnership, Bergman recently took on a role that has her very active in corporate development and oversight of the business. While the operations side of cable misses her, she keeps current with the industry through her involvement with WICT and many relationships in the industry. One of those connections, Janine McGrath Shelffo recently joined Advance as chief strategy officer and developmental officer. Shelffo was co-head of tech, media and telecom for the Americas at UBS, playing a role in Bright House’s sale to Charter. Bergman sees wireless as the key issue of 2018. “Extending cable’s infrastructure and capabilities to offer wireless services is a natural evolution of its robust and resilient network. The growth opportunities are significant, and it will result in compelling network innovation which will create a rising tide to lift all boats,” she says.

What famous woman, living or deceased, would you like to have dinner with?
Amelia Earhart. I am fascinated by her adventures and explorations. I cherish her inspiring words. One of my favorites is:  “The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers. You can do anything you decide to do. You can act to change and control your life; and the procedure, the process is its own reward.”

Best advice for relieving stress?
Spending time with my husband, in a coffee shop, for a couple of hours.
