At January’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Powell marked his eighth year on the job by launching the 10G Initiative, an industry-wide project to educate consumers, policy makers and other thought leaders about the next-gen technology platform. An unflinching advocate for the industry’s polices on hot topics like consumer privacy, net neutrality and digital piracy, Powell also is a role model for diversity and inclusion at NCTA and beyond. His pioneering initiatives have educated many about the power to be found in a diverse environment when all people are given the same respect and value.
