Goel Southworth is wrapping another characteristically notable year. She renegotiated a multiyear partnership between SundanceTV, Shudder and Sundance Now with the Sundance Institute and Sundance Film Festival, and drafted the agreement that governs Sundance TV’s exclusive presenting and broadcast sponsorship of this summer’s Rooftop Films Series. On the AMC side, she negotiated deals for “The Walking Dead’s” NextGame mobile and console games as well as an AR app that’s part of a sponsorship deal with Pepsi Brands. She’s also working on the upcoming “AMC Visionaries” docuseries. “The acceleration of shifting traditional paradigms and the continuation of disruption in all aspects of the business” are top of mind in the industry, she says.
