Roberts continues to successfully connect the dots between advertising, pricing, marketing, programming and research. Her keen ability to calculate the company’s recipe for success led Hallmark Channel to deliver another Q4 in the No. 1 spot on cable and catapult Hallmark Movies Now to surpass the 500,000-subscriber milestone within just over a year of its launch. Roberts says, “Leading by example and providing an incredibly positive work environment makes this the best place to work.”
What specifically does your company do to support and elevate the women who work there?
There are many women in senior level executive roles here. We promote and hire strong women and give them opportunities to grow within the company. Leading by example and providing an incredibly positive work environment makes this the best place to work.
What advice would you give your 13-year-old self?
It’s definitely a journey, there will be a lot of ups and downs along the way, but don’t give up. And take chances, even if they make you nervous.
Which current shows best reflect the kind of women’s roles you like to see and why?
There are so many it’s hard to keep up, but based on what I’m watching now, it’s a tie between “Big Little Lies” and “Younger.” Watching women dealing with relationships, children and careers while mixing in serious issues with some light-hearted moments is something to identify with and demonstrates the strength of these characters in day-to-day life.
