When it comes to security, Keever is a good person to call. In addition to implementing vulnerability management, PCI encryption and other tools to detect and respond to threats, she’s conducted phishing training at awareness campaigns at Cox. A techie at heart, Keever enjoys learning how things work and fixing things—all while balancing life with three teens. Perhaps that helps explain why HGTV “Fixer Upper” star Joanna Gaines is her favorite female on TV. “She takes what is old and worn and works collaboratively with others to change them into something beautiful and valuable while managing a family all at the same time,” she says.
Who is your favorite current female TV character and why?
Joanna Gaines (“Fixer Upper”). Not really a character but a reality star. Because she takes what is old and worn and works collaboratively with others to change them into something beautiful and valuable while managing a family all at the same time. She is very down to earth and positive.

What is one way the industry can continue to evolve in ridding itself of gender discrimination?
Find ways to interest and attract women while they are early in their careers. Work with them to help them understand how to incorporate their true selves into their work.
