The Agilent PXT wireless communications test set from Agilent Technologies now is available for testing voice quality on Voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) 4G phones with the Brüel & Kjær PULSE Audio Analyzer and Head and Torso Simulator (HATS).

The Agilent  and Brüel & Kjær solution combines standards-based test methods with real-world base station emulation, RF test and functional test.

Here’s how the combo works: The Brüel & Kjær PULSE Audio Analyzer and HATS system support testing based on such common international standards as ITU-T P.862 PESQ, 3GPP2 and 3GPP audio test specifications. The Agilent PXT wireless communication test set incorporates flexible base station/network emulation, RF parametric and functional tests into one integrated unit; when used with Agilent’s E6966A IMS-SIP Network Emulator Software, the Agilent PXT enables VoLTE phones to make end-to-end voice and video calls using a range of industry standard codecs.
