RAD Data Communications will launch its Micro Network Interface Device (MiNID) at Ethernet Expo Americas during the week of Nov. 6. The device plugs into the SFP cage of any manufacturer’s hosting device, transforming it into a Carrier Ethernet demarcation and SLA verification device for remote service monitoring and fault isolation, the company says. The MiNID reportedly can handle as much as 1 Gbps of Ethernet traffic, and it features per-port and per-flow monitoring capabilities, including Ethernet OAM and loopbacks. It can be managed remotely with low-touch configuration independently from its hosting device or, alternatively, it can be integrated with its hosting device to allow them to act together and appear as a single box…4G chipmaker Sequans Communications S.A. today introduced StreamliteLTE, its line of LTE semiconductor solutions aimed at Internet-connected consumer devices. The first chip is the SQN3101 Firefly model baseband chip that delivers as much as 50 Mbps of throughput with ultra-low-power consumption. SQN3101 Firefly is available now… Social One, a new subscriber app from Time Warner Cable, lets customers access social media platforms and instant messaging services directly from their desktops. The free app integrates seamlessly with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Foursquare, YouTube, AIM and more, using a technology called Socialzine that lets users view their social networks and consumer portal content in a magazine-style layout.
