Verizon has expanded its Enterprise Mobility as a Service offering to support managing a variety of applications, access options and devices, including smartphones, tablets and laptops. Features include Secure Workplace (using Divide by Enterproid to separate and secure professional data on both corporate-issued and employee-owned devices), the ability to lock or wipe mobile devices if lost or stolen, and  expanded access to more than 500,000 hot spots in 90 countries. Verizon will roll these features out this month to medium and large businesses in 30 countries and territories in Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Americas, with local billing, currency and support options available…Taoglas USA Inc., a provider of antenna solutions to the M2M and connected-device market, today unveiled a range of high-performance, ultra-wideband, off-the shelf LTE antennas. The new TG.30 Apex, FXUB.66 Maximus and PA.710A Warrior antennas cover all working frequencies in the 700 MHz-6000 MHz spectrum, including 2G/3G/4G cellular, Wi-Fi, ISM, GPS and AGPS…Skyworks Solutions Inc. has begun volume shipments of several medium- to high-power ZigBee front-end solutions for smart meters, home automation, security sensors and gateway applications. The SE2431L and SE2432L are 2.4 GHz, high-performance and fully integrated RF FEMs designed for ZigBee/smart energy and 802.15.4 applications. The FEMs are designed for ease of use and maximum flexibility, with integrated inter-stage matching and harmonic filter, and digital controls compatible with 1.6 – 3.6 volt (complementary metal oxide semiconductor levels. The RF blocks operate over a wide supply voltage range from 2 volts to 3.6 volts, allowing the devices to be used in battery-powered applications over a wide spectrum of the battery discharge curve…The GENBAND C20 Access Gateway Control Function (AGCF) now is part of the company’s best-in-class IMS solution, enabling operators to seamlessly leverage their IMS investments and deliver ubiquitous multimedia services across different access types, including broadband IP, legacy fixed and mobile access infrastructures… Cinterion, Gemalto’s M2M business segment, launched the PXS8 industrial-grade multimode M2M module to enable global roaming for voice and data communications. Developed for use on Verizon Wireless network and its international roaming partners, the new module supports both global 2G and 3G standards, eliminating the need for multiple designs for worldwide M2M solutions. The PXS8 is suitable for such data-rich and space-constrained M2M apps as industrial PDAs, global tracking and tracing, video surveillance or onboard vehicle Internet solutions…Five new additions to Broadcom’s StrataGX line of SoCs deliver high-bandwidth gigabit connectivity to enterprise and small-to-medium business (SMB) networks. Designed as companion devices to the StrataGX SoCs that combine a high-performance processor, Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) switch, GbE physical layer transceivers (PHYs), USB 3.0 and traffic accelerators all on a single chip, the new devices reportedly deliver more than 10 times the speed and 40-percent more power efficiency to enterprise and carrier-class access points, branch-office routers and business-class integrated services routers.
