ARRIS announced that Japan Cablenet (JNC) Ltd., the nation’s second largest cable operator, will begin wide-scale deployment of its 160 Mbps high-speed data service across its footprint, beginning at JNC Koala Katsushika site this month. Dubbed Speed Star 160, this service incorporates upstream channel bonding, which increases data throughput speeds and ensures greater network reliability through noise reduction.

Japan Cablenet this year selected the ARRIS cable modem termination system (CMTS) solution, consisting of the DOCSIS 3.0-qualified C4 CMTS and DOCSIS 3.0-certified WBM760C wideband modems. JCN provides residential broadband service through 17 system operators in the Tokyo metro region.
