Huawei announced today the opening of a Long Term Evolution (LTE) laboratory in Richardson, Texas.

Initially established with prototype equipment in fall 2008, the facility has been upgraded to support commercial product releases for North America. The lab recently implemented Huawei’s first commercial LTE solution release targeted at operators in the U.S. and Canada.

The lab is equipped with Huawei’s SingleRAN DBS3900 eNobeB (which supports CDMA-LTE and UMTS/LTE dual mode operation), USN 9810 unified service node, UGW 9811 unified gateway, M2000 element management system and the latest version of commercial software.
