The Israeli Broadcast Authority (IBA) will use CastUP’s multi-screen OTT platform and integration services to launch its OTT service in time for the London 2012 Olympics. The new service will include nine live channels, network DVR, Catch-Up TV and VOD services to PCs, smartphones, tablets (Android and iOS) and Samsung-connected TVs. Using CastUP Media Portal and real-time overlay Electronic Program Guide, users will be able to watch live channels, restart live events, skip back in time during live events and watch related events in VOD format…The BBC is one of its first broadcast partners to use key components of Adobe’s "Project Primetime” to deliver live video streams and VOD content of the London Games across the Web and all major device types. “Primetime Simulcast” will allow the BBC’s coverage of the Olympics and major sports events to be simultaneously streamed on desktops, smartphones, tablets and Internet-connected TVs. With “Primetime Highlights,” VOD coverage of key sporting moments are created as they happen and published to desktops and connected devices…NBCUniversal says it sold $1 billion worth of national TV and digital ads for its London Olympics coverage, $150 million more than the total for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The figure includes ad sales across platforms, including TV, online, tablets and other wireless devices, specialty channels and 3D channels.
