Plenty of action the week before the Thanksgiving holiday. Here’s a rundown of events of note this week.

FCC Oversight Hearing

On Tuesday morning, House Commerce will hold a hearing on FCC oversight that will feature all five commissioners.

Media Institute Lunch

The Media Institute will host an invitation-only panel discussion Tuesday in DC on “Privacy and Cybersecurity: The FTC and FCC.” Panelists include FCC Enforcement Bureau chief Travis LeBlanc, CTIA privacy vp Debbie Matties, FTC Consumer Protection Bureau director Jessica Rich and University of Pennsylvania law professor Christopher Yoo.

FCC Open Meeting

The FCC will hold its November Open meeting on Thursday, with the agenda including a second report and order and second Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on providing consumers with better info about the availability of accessible devices and features for easier access to video programming and closed captioning on devices. Most Powerful Women Breakfast

Cablefax: The Magazine will recognize its Most Powerful Women in Cable at a breakfast at the Edison Ballroom in New York City Friday at 8:30am.

Overachievers Under 30 Awards Lunch

Cablefax hosts emerging young leaders for a lunch featuring an awards ceremony and mentoring roundtables.
