There’s a Shark (Week) in the Water

We have a date for Discovery Channel’s 2017 “Shark Week.” And with it comes another um, biting, promotion. Anticipation for the spots has ran high ever since the programmer cracked up the country with the 2013 introduction of Snuffy the Seal. Check out the new clip below. Are you pro-shark or SEAL?
Shark Week, which premieres July 23, has always been a ratings juggernaut for the channel. But last year’s numbers took a hit by scheduling. The net moved the stunt up to early June to avoid bumping against the Rio Olympics, but CEO David Zaslav later called it a mistake. We’ll all be watching to see if Chompie and his friends can make a triumphant return. Shark Week is television’s longest running summer event with this its 29th anniversary.
