Our Take:

Time Warner Cable announced on Thursday that its WiFi network has grown to more than 100,000 hotspots and its outdoor network is now in Dallas, San Antonio and Raleigh. And thanks to the Cable WiFi agreement between several MSOs, TWC subs have access to more than 400,000 hotspots. Other initiatives TWC has worked on since last year include a partnership with Boingo, enhanced security, and auto-connection to TWC WiFi. These are consumer-friendly enhancements, which can’t hurt in light of the pending TWC-Charter merger.

Today marks an important TWC WiFi® milestone. For the past four years, we’ve made a significant investment in building a national TWC WiFi network across our footprint. As of today, we offer more than 100,000 WiFi access points to all TWC Business Class Internet customers and qualified residential Internet customers.
