Comcast Enters Gigabit Race in Atlanta

Our take:
Comcast is launching gigabit Internet–which is up to 100 times faster than normal broadband–in the Atlanta market. Google and AT&T have already announced plans to launch ultra-fast Internet speeds as well, so this ups the competition for customers in the Atlanta metropolitan area.
The “gigabit Internet” war in Atlanta is heating up. Philadelphia-based cable television giant Comcast will launch ultra-fast Internet service for businesses in Metro Atlanta. Comcast trails Google and AT&T who have announced similar plans for the region. None of the companies have said how much the service – which can deliver Internet speeds of up to 1 Gigabit per second – will cost.
