In less than three years, Duncan turned an idea—executives of color offering unwavering support to creators of color—into success by providing creators access to all the Walt Disney Co. has to offer. In its first year of eligibility, Onyx Collective earned four Emmy nominations; “The 1619 Project” won outstanding documentary or nonfiction series. Duncan greenlighted and renewed Onyx’s first comedy series, “UnPrisoned,” starring Kerry Washington, and developed an ambitious programming slate for the new season.
