Fitzgerald helms day-to-day operations for AMC and SundanceTV as well as development of new projects. In the last 12 months, she’s steered the continued success of “The Walking Dead” and “Fear the Walking Dead,” as well as AMC series “Preacher” and “Into the Badlands.” In the coming year, AMC will develop two anthology series and several other new shows—all with Fitzgerald’s fingerprints on them. Trust your gut and don’t worry so much.

Which current shows best reflect the kind of women’s roles you like to see and why?
I am a big fan of “Killing Eve.” It shows that women’s roles can be nuanced and dynamic as both the protagonist and the psychopathic killer.
